About Us
Epiphany and Company Presents: Self and STEAM Academy implements therapeutic and STEAM activities into our daily curriculum; STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics. Our philosophies and curriculum are based on NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) standards and competencies for early childhood education. Our program aims to support all areas of development, including physical, cognitive, social, emotional, linguistic, and aesthetic domains (critical elements of brain development: learning motivation, social interactions, and play) while developing a love for STEAM activities. Our philosophy is to encourage playful learning that combines a child’s interest with learning opportunities in the context of playful, intentional, and enjoyable experiences.
Our staff provide joyful and meaningful curriculum for our program participants while instilling the principles of fairness and justice that reflect our goals of anti-bias education. Our teachers build on each child’s unique set of individual and family strengths, cultural background, language, abilities, and experience to equitably support each child’s development and learning. Our playful learning approach includes child selected and directed play and exploration along with teacher guidance; teachers set up the environment and use open-ended questions and suggestions to encourage children toward a learning goal while still providing children with choices.
Regarding COVID-19, we are prepared to modify our program to meet local and state requirements for conducing preschool in the Indiana or Lake County. Staff will continue to provide enhanced cleaning measures and handwashing during the preschool program. The district will follow local and state guidance and mandates to keep children and staff safe while participating at Epiphany and Co. Self and STEAM Academy which includes physical distancing and face covering requirements. Additional information and modifications will be provided prior to the start of the school year. Come take a tour of our center virtually every Tuesday from 9:00am to 2:00pm. During tour time, we will display what the center looks like and the important features we offer. Also, as an added bonus, see first hand the curriculum and activities our kids partake in.

Hello Reader,
I wanted to take a moment to thank you for choosing Epiphany and Co. Self and S.T.E.A. M Daycare Center for your child or children. As a licensed mental health counselor, aunt, and daughter I understand the importance of TRUSTING a provider to care for your child. I have gone above and beyond to make sure we bring you a peace of mind and quality services. Our staff members are trained and qualified to work in a daycare setting. What separates us from other Daycares Centers is our therapeutic components. We want to build children up, not only academically, but emotionally.
I recognize environment is so important for children, and I really take pride in being able to make a difference in the way our center is unique. We provide a home—like environment for children to be exposed to each and every day. Surrounding children with beautiful classrooms that are safe, luxurious, and educational is a priority.
